The Illinois grasslands inspired the design of this suburban Chicago residence. On the exterior, Wisconsin Chilton stone, cedar shake, and tan brick provide a warm and richly textured base for the dramatic arched metal roof. The muted materials palette blends the distinctive design into the surrounding turn-of-the-century neighborhood. A stone wall filters out street noise and creates a two-story entrance gallery. Native wood and textured materials soften the interior’s strong geometric shapes.
