A Chicago couple owning a large, heavily contoured property on Lake Michigan in Stevensville, Michigan, asked Eckenhoff Saunders to design two houses at the top of the bluff overlooking the lake. The two structures were to be different yet contemporary in style and related in geometry. Each was to have three bedrooms, large glass areas, an open floor plan, outside decks, and positioned to receive maximum sun exposure for the swimming pools despite their adjacency. Privacy was also an essential requirement.
