Madison Park

Chicago, Illinois (Loop)

In conjunction with the John Buck Company and Juan Gabriel Moreno Architects (JGMA), Eckenhoff Saunders conceptualized and designed Madison Park, a new open-air landscape structure spanning a full block over the Kennedy Expressway between Madison and Monroe Streets in downtown Chicago.

The park accommodates all traffic movement on and off the ten-lane interstate while connecting the West Loop with downtown Chicago. In addition to providing open green space, the park facilitates cross-block pedestrian paths, enhances retail opportunities, and provides a great lawn for significant events/flexible spaces. The design work includes preliminary engineering and pricing for the development.
