Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center Elk Grove Village received state approval for a hospital improvement project that will substantially expand and modernize its surgery and recovery areas and bring new, dedicated inpatient rooms to treat neurological patients. The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved the investment in the hospital, which will expand the facility by more than 100,000 square feet and include the modernization of existing space.

The new, private inpatient rooms will include all the modern conveniences for patients receiving neurosciences services. The work will primarily affect the medical center’s East Tower, which currently houses the majority of its inpatient nursing units. The expansion will include the addition of two floors with 36 beds in leading-edge patient care rooms. In addition, the project will consist of 22,000 square feet of new operating rooms and recovery space, expanded to accommodate leading-edge procedures, such as new robotic, minimally invasive treatments.
