Eckenhoff Saunders is partnering with Mavrek Development to design the first phase of Belmora, a mixed-use residential development at 919 West Belmont Avenue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Just steps from the Belmont CTA station, the five-story building introduces new housing and ground-floor retail to one of the city’s most active and walkable corridors.
The building includes 46 studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom residences, approximately 5,700 square feet of ground-floor retail, and seven parking spaces. A lobby lounge, coworking space, fitness center, bicycle storage, and dog run extend residents’ living space beyond their apartments. Studio Three is planned for the retail space, bringing a new fitness destination to Belmont Avenue.
Belmora’s brick-clad exterior draws on the scale and material character of the surrounding neighborhood while giving the building a distinct contemporary identity. Together, its residences, amenities, and street-level retail contribute to a connected urban experience shaped by Lake View’s transit, restaurants, shops, and entertainment.
