NOMA Mixed-Use Development
Chicago, Illinois (West Town)
NOMA is a mega project located in Chicago’s West Town, envisioned and entitled by Shapack Partners. Eckenhoff Saunders is engaged as Executive Architect, working with ODA New York to plan, design, and coordinate the City of Chicago entitlement process for the 3.25-acre, multi-phased, 1.6 million SF development.
The development transforms a five-block dormant area of Chicago, north of Fulton Market, between Ohio Street, West Hubbard Street, South Halsted, and North Desplaines Streets into a vibrant new community. The predominant uses will be high-rise multi-family, commercial, entertainment, retail, and hospitality. The initial phase will feature the adaptive, historic reuse of the former Salvation Army Headquarters at 509 North Union into a 140-key boutique hotel and restaurant venue.
