SIU-Carbondale Interior Design Students Visit Eckenhoff Saunders

Eckenhoff Saunders proudly hosted undergraduate students from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale’s Interior Design program at our office in One Prudential Plaza in Chicago. While classroom learning provides a solid foundation, there’s no substitute for real-world experience!

SIU alumni Nikki Manno and Jessica LaPointe presented a “day in the life of an interior designer” to students and how they collaborate with clients while navigating the design process from concept to completion. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session and a guided office tour, including an overview of our materials library.

This real-world exposure helps students understand the practical aspects of interior design, gaining insights into the latest design trends, materials, and technologies, as well as an understanding of how design firms operate. We are proud to host this incredible group of students and wish them continued success!
