Health Careers Education Center – Oakton College and Endeavor Health

Eckenhoff Saunders partnered with Oakton College and Endeavor Health to design the new Health Careers Education Center, a transformative learning environment that marks Oakton’s first-ever physical presence in Evanston. Strategically located on the second floor of the COS Building at 2500 Ridge Avenue, the 6,000 sf center expands access to healthcare training, addressing a critical need for skilled professionals in long-vacant medical positions. The design fosters hands-on learning through state-of-the-art simulation labs, observation-enabled classrooms, and collaborative spaces.
Key Features:
- Radiology Lab with full-size X-ray machine and connected control room
- Surgical Technology Lab featuring two operating rooms, scrub sinks, and sterile supply area
- Cardiac Sonography Lab with seven echo position bays and a group huddle room
- Observation Classrooms adjacent to each lab for real-time learning
- Support Amenities including a conference/lounge space, student lockers, and ground-floor administrative offices
