Center for Architecture Design and Education

Chicago, Illinois (Loop)

This conceptual design for a new Chicago Architecture Center involved a new structure housing “chi-design,” a new design-focused Chicago public high school, “After School Matters,” and the Chicago Architecture Foundation to propel Chicago’s legacy as the country’s leading city of architecture and design.

Eckenhoff Saunders worked with each organization to establish their functional programs and to design a dynamic building, layering dedicated and shared space. The resulting 235,000 sf, 14-story building design is a striking example of collaboration and shared resources for Chicago’s youth.
