Eckenhoff Saunders is seeking a mid-level designer with experience in various markets to join our well-established firm. Located in the Prudential Building overlooking Millennium Park, Eckenhoff Saunders is an architecture and design firm that has worked on projects across markets such as the workplace, education, commercial, hospitality, and healthcare. Our project approach thrives on collaboration with architects, planners, and interior designers, offering candidates unique exposure to thoughtful design.

Our ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, energetic, and passionate designer to expand our team. The designer would proactively lead interior projects, including the coordination of engineers. Communicate their design vision concisely to the project team and clients. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills for creative solutions to the design process, detailing, and on-site construction coordination.

Role Within the Firm & Responsibilities:

  • Present design concepts to clients by preparing presentation renderings.
  • Conduct client meetings.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in design and technical detailing.
  • Display fundamental knowledge of finish materials.
  • Research applicable building and accessibility codes.
  • Coordinate with consultants and vendors.
  • Lead Construction Administration.
  • Select and specify furniture and coordinate furniture bid package.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited university
  • Four to eight years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Rendering Skills using 3D Studio Max, Enscape, and Sketch-Up are highly desired.
  • NCIDQ Certified/Licensed Architect or in the process of achieving certification/licensure
  • LEED Certified (preferred but not required)
