Carle ASC Opens
A ribbon-cutting and open house ceremony took place at the new Champaign Surgery Center at Carle at The Fields in Champaign, Illinois. The new center is part of a more substantial new development at the I-57 and Curtis Road interchange that consolidates Carle and Health Alliance administrative and support functions.
Carle sought to create a highly flexible environment that can accommodate growth while maintaining patient care. The new 47,000 sf ambulatory surgical center features eight state-of-the-art operating suites and 51 pre/post recovery bays. The center will provide better outpatient care in plastic surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, gynecology, urology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, eye, and oral and maxillofacial surgeries.
“Eckenhoff Saunders is very thankful to work with Carle and Christie Clinic in the planning and design of the new Ambulatory Surgery Center,” said ESA Principal Mark Nichols.
“Our combined goals of providing a facility that is inviting and care-focused has been realized to the benefit of all those who visit for treatment, and the staff that will provide their services. Our collective effort to design toward positive outcomes in patient care will be a testament to the success of the facility,” said Nichols.
In addition to the new Ambulatory Surgery Center, ESA was instrumental in the development of two additional facilities at Carle at The Fields—the recently completed Christie Clinic building and the Carle Outpatient Services building, set to open this spring.
