Cardiovascular Institute
NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) received approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to build a new, state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) complex on NorthShore’s Glenbrook Hospital campus in Glenview. The project aligns with NorthShore’s commitment to community-connected care, recognizing the growing need for cardiovascular care that is centralized and easily accessible throughout the region.
NorthShore University Health System has strategically selected the Glenbrook Hospital campus for the new phased expansion of its cardiovascular Institute. The development will encompass 165,000 sf on four levels and include 12 cath labs, four open-heart operating rooms, one cardiac CT, and two hybrid ORs.
Patient areas will consist of 19 PACU bays and 27 pre/post patient bays, a dedicated entry lobby, registration of multiple staff areas to round out the program. Utility Infrastructure will require new steam, chilled water, and emergency power generation, while site work will involve new landscaping and parking. The expansion is planned to incorporate solar panels and an extensive green roof to enhance energy efficiency and patient room views.
