Zion Woods Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Community, Collaboration, and Compassionate Design

After years of visioning, planning, and dedicated collaboration, Zion Woods is officially open! We were honored to celebrate last week’s ribbon cutting ceremony in Deerfield alongside Illinois State Senator Julie Morrison, State Representative Rob Morgan, Mayor Dan Shapiro, Village Trustees, and the many partners and community members who helped bring this transformative project to life.

Zion Woods is a 25-unit residential development that provides safe, supportive housing for individuals with limited incomes and those requiring assisted living due to physical or mental health needs. Built on land generously donated by Zion Lutheran Church, the project stands as a testament to what’s possible when architecture, thoughtful planning, and shared community values come together.

“This project is a testament to perseverance and to putting your heart into something that truly benefits the community.”

Matt Wylie, Principal, Eckenhoff Saunders, and Zion Lutheran Church member

“Thank you to Housing Opportunity Development Corporation, Brinshore Development, Zion Lutheran Church, and our project partners for making this vision a reality,” Wylie added. Learn more about the Zion Woods project here: https://esadesign.com/portfolio/zion-woods
