North Federal Savings Bank

24,000 sf flagship branch bank
Chicago, Illinois

The conceptual design for this 24,000 sf flagship branch building includes lower level parking for 33 cars and three drive-thru lanes. The space program also allows for six teller stations, offices for loan officers and personal bankers, as well as a safety deposit vault area. The client planned to occupy the first two of the building’s four stories, and rent the other two floors (approximately 6,500 sf each) to tenants.

Both the first and second floors open to a two-story corner atrium that looks out to a vibrant urban intersection. A separate entry on the ground floor connects directly to the tenant spaces. Other distinctive design features include a pedestrian-scaled canopy at the corner, along with sidewalk planters between detailed brick and stone building piers.
