First American Bank
Prototype branch bank
Lincoln Park, Chicago, Illinois
Located at a highly trafficked intersection in the heart of Chicago's retail boutique district, this renovation of a former restaurant included a new brick façade on a rebuilt-in-face foundation. A new steel and masonry tower marks the entrance to the bank and the 24-hour ATM lobby. Over 35 feet tall, the tower features a copper-clad dome and limestone support columns. Interior features include beech wood paneling, marble floors, and a plaster domed ceiling. ESA designed a 1,000 sf expansion in 2003.
ESA has designed nearly 50 branch banks for First American Bank using a prototype the firm developed that can be adapted to any site, banking function, or municipality.
